Gucci SunglassesWhen I think of Gucci, I think of prestige. They make so many things these days, shoes, luggage, etc. My eyeglass frames are made by Gucci, and often when I see an eye doctor, they will ooh and ahh that I have Gucci eyeglasses. So it figures they would make sharp-looking sunglasses too. And I would naturally assume that because of the Gucci name, they have to be good. But as with all sunglasses, it is best to check the label to make sure the sunglasses offer the best eye protection, and aren't too dark to see out of. The Gucci company is 100 years old. It was founded in Italy by Guccio Gucci in 1906. Gucci still has its headquarters located in Florence. They've been mostly famous for their leather goods, but of course make high quality eyewear as well. Many of their sunglasses are made especially for comfort, as well as a wrap-around design, for maximum eye protection. One bit of trivia: Gucci's current president and CEO, Robert Polet, was formerly the president of Unilever’s Worldwide Ice Cream and Frozen Foods division. Thanks in large part to his leadership, Gucci Group is the third largest luxury goods corporation in the world. Also, the double-G logo of Gucci is one of the most famous designs known. Yet, especially on their sunglasses, it is often featured discreetly, for a nice tasteful effect.
